2004/5 North East Indoor Regional Series Results
10th Electric Off Road
Harrogate - 19th December 2004
Round 2 of the Indoor Regional takes us to the lovely town of Harrogate.
It’s good to be racing indoors when you have to be up early on a dark and very cold Sunday morning!!!!
The Venue is an indoor school sports hall with the track being made up of mainly different types of carpet and some slippy floor. However this year it was slightly different there had been a new surface laid in the sports hall so it had to all be covered and no long slippy floor corner at the end of the straight like we are used to.
It was a really good turn out for the day with most drivers opting to do 2wd with 3 heats of 4wd.
There were several different types of carpet used some offering more grip then other but most driver used Schumacher yellow minipins. The minipins offered the most grip but some drivers opted for minispikes as it made the cars a bit more predictable to drive even if not offering the most grip.
It was also good to see Neil Cragg making a return after his nasty injury.
Well Neil started of in fine form and put his car pole on the grid however in the final he went slightly wide on the straight at clipped the wall, breaking his car. Richard Lowe went on to take the win to keep him at the top of the table on 200points.
In 4wd Tom Cockerill took Pole but eventually finished 3rd even though he was leading a quickly chasing Ben Riley who eventually took the win.
It was a good days racing and well done to Harrogate for holding a really good meeting.
