Durham Indoor Regional Round 4.

Race Data Championship

Round 4 was held by the newly named club North East R/C Racing.

The event was held at Nissan Sports Centre which is in the grounds of the Nissan Car factory in Sunderland. It is a large sports hall which normally makes for a good track.

As the years have gone by the track has seen more and more carpet with this year it being 70% carpet and the rest being slippy floor. The carpet was very grippy so using minipins made the cars grip roll very easy even if they were on worn tyres. Minispikes offered a safe route providing plenty of grip but not enough to roll the cars at every corner.

There was some amusing commentary in very good spirit on the day which kept us all well entertained causing a bit of laughter now and again. Thanks Bill.

Once again there was a good turn out of 10 heats, 6 of them being 2wd and the remaining going to 4wd.

Ben Riley managed to take FTQ in 2wd and place his B4 on pole. In the final he led from start to finish taking the win.

In 4wd Richard Harper was quick all day and managed to take pole on the grid. He also managed to lead from start to finish taking his second meeting win of the indoor season.

Well done to everyone at North East R/C Racing for making it a very enjoyable day.

The final round will be held at Batley Buggy Club.
